After selecting the right faucet, improper maintenance can affect its lifespan, which is a common headache for many. Faucets are used frequently, as they are utilized daily in daily life. Under such high-frequency usage, how can you maintain the faucet to extend its lifespan? In fact, this is not difficult. Below are some tips: as long as you install, use, and maintain the faucet correctly, its actual lifespan can not only be extended but also kept shiny and new.


When the ambient temperature drops below 0 degrees Celsius, if the faucet handle feels abnormal, it must be heated with hot water until the sensation returns to normal before use. Otherwise, it will affect the service life of the faucet valve core.


After closing the faucet, dripping may occur due to residual water remaining in the internal cavity of the faucet when it was opened, which is a normal phenomenon. If dripping persists for more than ten minutes, it indicates a leak, suggesting a quality issue with the product.


3. Due to the presence of trace carbonates in water, simple evaporation on the metal surface forms scale, which corrodes the faucet exterior, affecting its cleanliness and lifespan. Therefore, after using the faucet, regularly wipe the surface with a soft cotton cloth or sponge dipped in neutral soapy water (Note: Avoid using corrosive or acidic substances for cleaning). Then dry the surface with a soft cloth. Do not use metal scrubbing pads or abrasive sponges with hard particles.


4. Do not turn the faucet handle too forcefully; simply roll it gently with ease. Even for traditional faucets, excessive force is unnecessary when tightening. Avoid using the handle as a support or lever. Many people develop the habit of over-tightening the faucet after use, which is highly discouraged. This not only fails to prevent leaks but also damages the sealing valve, leading to improper closure.


5. When the water flow decreases, it may be due to clogged impurities. If the water pressure is not less than 0.02 MPa and the outflow is reduced, it could be caused by a blockage inside the faucet. The solution is to gently remove the faucet screen cover at the outlet using a wrench, clean the impurities, and carefully reinstall it. This usually restores the faucet to its original condition.
